NFL Week 10: Tennessee Titans vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers, betting picks, preview

Both of these teams have three wins so far this season. The outlooks are very different though. For Tennessee, they have named rookie Will Levis as their starter at quarterback. To me that indicates they are willing to turn this season into a development year, mostly. Tampa has a more veteran group that still has a really good shot of taking the NFC South. It might not take more than nine wins to do so.

Odds: Tampa Bay -1, Over/under 39.5, Tennessee -105 | Tampa Bay -115

Having a future at quarterback is a great thing, but it does not always translate into wins and losses in the short term. This line is telling us the teams are about even. The trajectory of both is hard to define which makes this game an interesting one and when you only need your team to win to cover there will always be differences of opinion.

Picks for Tennessee vs Tampa Bay

Tennessee -105, Derrick Henry Over 2.5 Receptions (+150)

I like what I have seen with Will Levis at the helm of the Titans' offense. Best of all, having an effective running game means they do not have to put it all on him, and a limited receiving corps for every drive of every game. Running back Derrick Henry is still very effective and the Tennessee defense is far from elite, but they are giving up just 20 ppg. I think they can have some success against a Tampa offense that is very one-dimensional. Tampa is at home, but this club does not get much of a boost for being so. This feels like a very sleepy spot that is just perfect for a very modest upset.

Henry has never really been a dual threat but he has bested this reception total in both games with Levis starting and at that price, it is hard to not bet on going three for three. They are just trying to be not so obvious in the ways they are using him to keep defenses guessing. They should have been doing this all along.

It is not a huge advantage but there is more support for Tennessee than Tampa right now. With the spread at what it is right now you are probably best to go with whatever offers the better payoff, when you make your play. Just stick with Tennessee.
