NFL Week 15: New Orleans Saints vs. New York Giants betting picks, preview

Tommy DeVito is the story of the NFL right now. The undrafted rookie, who's been aptly nicknamed Tommy Cutlets, has led the New York Giants to three straight victories and captured the hearts of northeast Italian-Americans everywhere. Will DeVito keep the good times rolling in Week 15, or will the New Orleans Saints put an end to his magical run?

New Orleans Saints vs. New York Giants betting odds, preview

Spread: Saints -6, Over/under: 38, Moneyline: Saints -250 | Giants +205

The Giants were trending toward a top-two pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, but after Daniel Jones and Tyrod Taylor went down with injuries, DeVito stepped in and revived the season. The former Syracuse and Illinois product is 3-0 in his last three starts with 595 passing yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions.

The Giants defense has also turned around after a rough start to the season, as the unit has given up just 16.0 points per game over that span.

As for the Saints, they beat the hapless Carolina Panthers last week to keep pace in the NFC South. New Orleans is now 6-7 and in a three-way tie with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Atlanta Falcons for first place in the division. The Saints have to play the Bucs and Falcons to finish the season, so a win this week would go a long way in determining the NFC South champion.

Saints vs. Giants betting picks

Giants +6 (-110 FanDuel)

Let's get this straight. The Saints closed -5.5 against the 1-12 Panthers at home last week. Derek Carr looked terrible once again, and Carolina out-gained New Orleans by nearly 100 yards, yet the Saints won by margin because the Panthers can't get out of their own way.

Now, a week later, the Saints are even bigger favorites against a Giants team that has a ton of mojo going for them right now. How does that make sense? Brian Daboll runs laps around Dennis Allen as a head coach, so we'll gladly take the 'dog here.

Saints total touchdowns under 2.5 (-128 FD)

The Giants haven't given up more than two touchdowns in a game over their three-game winning streak. This defense is starting to hit its stride, and now New York gets to face one of the worst red-zone teams in the NFL.

The Saints have scored a touchdown on only 50 percent of their red-zone drives, and that number was even worse before they converted multiple RZ opportunities against the Panthers and Detroit Lions. We're expecting some regression back to the mean this week.
