Most teams that win the Super Bowl are unlikely to win it all again in a second straight season. There might be a perfectly plausible reason to believe the Philadelphia Eagles will defy the odds and win it all again.
Bleacher Report writer Alex Kay went through each NFL team and explained why they shouldn't be overlooked. The reason for the Eagles was simple: "enough left in the tank to repeat."
"The Eagles went through the same struggles this offseason that many Super Bowl winners exper ience in the wake of lifting the Lombardi Trophy.
The main concerns surrounding this group's ability to repeat are the poaching of Nick Sirianni's staff—namely offensive coordinator Kellen Moore taking the New Orleans Saints head coaching gig—and the departures of several key free agents.
While Philly's defensive line clearly took a hit with Josh Sweat and Milton Williams leaving, key veterans like Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis remain in the defensive trenches.
Once you factor longtime Sirriani staffer Kevin Patullo's promotion to OC, a promising draft class led by Day 1 pick Jihaad Campbell and an extension for superstar running back Saquon Barkley, the Eagles clearly remain the team to beat in 2025 and potentially far beyond."
Philly had the number one defense and top-10 offense last year. It's hard to think that the Eagles can't contend for another Super Bowl.
Led by quarterback Jalen Hurts , the offense boasts a wealth of weapons, including 2,000-yard rusher Saquon Barkley, A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Dallas Goedert in the passing game. The offensive line also happens to be the best in the NFL, with Lane Johnson and Jordan Mailata the top guys.
There are more questions on defense since they are so young, but Jalen Carter, Quinyon Mitchell, Zack Baun, and Cooper DeJean are the stars of the unit. Watch out for Nakobe Dean and Nolan Smith to have monster 2025 seasons after having breakout 2024 campaigns.
Outside of the youth on defense, the only other question is with the new play caller on offense Patullo. People are still traumatized by what happened with Brian Johnson two years ago, so fans and media don't want the offense to take another step back.
This Eagles team has all the makings of another Super Bowl, thanks to the culture that Sirianni has created, as this is a winning franchise and has been over the last 20 years.
