Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb is ready to go heading into the 2025 season.
Chubb's 2023 season was cut short due to a severe knee injury. He missed all of the last offseason before missing the start of the 2024 season.
He later returned in Week 7 and played in eight games before a broken foot ended his season. Chubb finished the 2024 season with 102 carries for 332 yards and three touchdowns.
Chubb is set to be a free agent in two weeks and is ready to try and bounce back next season.
“I feel good and I’ve definitely been through a lot last two years,” Chubb said, via On3. “So I’m trying to bounce back. Things happen. I came back, broke my foot. It is what it is. I’m healthy now."
"New season, I have a full offseason. ... I’m back to my training. So I’m feeling good, looking forward to getting healthy and getting back out there."
Chubb had four years (2019-22) where he rushed for over 1,000 yards. His best season came in 2022 when he compiled 302 carries for 1,525 yards and 12 touchdowns.
When healthy, he's one of the top running backs in the league but teams may be fearful of giving him a big contract since he's been banged up these last two years.
He could get a short-term "prove it" deal and if he plays well, he could get a longer-term extension from that.
Chubb has amassed 1,340 carries for 6,843 yards and 51 touchdowns since breaking into the league in 2018. The Browns selected him in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft out of Georgia.
The Browns finished the 2024 season with a 3-14 record and have a lot of holes to fill if they want to return to the playoffs in 2025.
