Alaric Jackson‘s June arrest will not result in criminal charges. It was already known a felony charge would not emerge in this case, but another important development has now taken place.

No criminal charges have been filed in this case, as detailed by Helen Jeong and Dennis Broad of NBC4 Los Angeles. The case is still open at this time, but alternatives will be made available to Jackson. The veteran Rams left tackle could attend a pre-trial diversion class, pay restitution or perform community service in lieu of charges, according to the LA City Attorney’s Office.

Jackson was initially arrested on a domestic battery charge, but the subsequent police investigation has not resulted in the case being pursued further. An NFL investigation is now likely to begin, with the league’s standard practice being to avoid a probe until legal proceedings have run their course. A fine and/or suspension under the personal conduct policy is still possible in the absence of a criminal conviction.

In 2024, Jackson served a two-game suspension under the personal conduct policy. The alleged incident which resulted in that ban led to a civil suit being filed in November. Further missed time in 2026 will become something to watch for in this case during the lead-up to the regular season.

Jackson, 28 next month, has spent his entire NFL career with the Rams. The former undrafted free agent has totaled 57 appearances and 51 starts during his tenure in Los Angeles, and another campaign as the team’s starter on the blindside will be expected. One year remains on Jackson’s contract, and he is owed $19.43MM for 2026.
