The Packers dealt with their share of significant injuries in 2025, especially down the stretch of a season that careened to an end in Saturday night’s NFC Wild Card loss to the division rival Chicago Bears.
While All-Pro edge rusher Micah Parsons is targeting a return in the first-month of the 2026 season from a torn ACL, and tight end Tucker Kraft continues his rehab, in hopes of missing little, if any time next fall, Green Bay dodged a potentially major injury bullet on Saturday night at Soldier Field.
Green Bay’s offense stalled out for much of the second half, and then added injury to insult when Sean Rhyan was knocked from the game with a knee injury.
Fortunately for Rhyan and the Packers, though, tests revealed that the injury was a bone bruise, rather than any sort of ligament damage, according to a report from Tom SIlverstein.
#Packers C Sean Rhyan said he suffered a bone bruise after getting hit in the side of the knee and tests showed no ligament damage.

Rhyan, 25, allowed just one sack in 462 pass-blocking snaps this season, according to Pro Football Focus, as one of Green Bay’s most consistently dominant offensive linemen.
Set to become a free agent this offseason, Rhyan at least doesn’t have any structural damage to his knee, and the injury shouldn’t cloud any ongoing contract negotiation talks to keep him in the fold in a potentially expanded role next season.
In a season derailed by injuries to starters and key contributors, the fact that one of the Packers’ top offensive linemen won’t have any lingering effects in 2026 is a bit of good news.
