It’s just a matter of days before the Green Bay Packers kick off their 2025 NFL season, as they are scheduled to share the field this coming Sunday with Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions.

The game will be played at Lambeau Field, where the Packers are expected to parade their new-look stop unit that now features four-time Pro Bowler and superstar pass rusher Micah Parsons.

The Packers are looking to make a big statement right away, and what better time to do it than in Week 1 against the two-time defending NFC North division champions. The Lions went 12-5 in 2023 and 15-2 in 2024, winning the NFC North title on both occasions.

As for Green Bay, it is still looking to get their first division championship in the post-Aaron Rodgers era. However, they have made the playoffs in each of the last two seasons and are poised to make another trip to the postseason, given the talent on the team and the huge addition of Parsons to the fold.

The Packers have a chance to snap Goff’s perfect Week 1 trend

Green Bay is the betting favorite in its Week 1 date at home with Detroit, but those looking to back the Packers to cover the spread in that contest will also have to hope that a particular trend linked to Goff will come to an end.
