Packers fired up about Luke Musgrave’s 2025 upside

Tucker Kraft is emerging as one of the most dynamic tight ends across the NFL, but even if Kraft is unable to go in Week 3, the Packers are brimming with confidence in Luke Musgrave.

Musgrave has battled through myriad injuries throughout the start of his career, and if Kraft’s knee injury keeps the explosive paymaker out of action against the Browns, Green Bay’s coaching staff has high expectations for his top backup.

“I told our tight ends coach the other day, ‘This is the best I’ve seen him since he’s been in the building,'” Packers offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich told reporters, of Musgrave. “I think it has a lot to do with his offseason training and his habits. He’s stronger. He’s always been fast, but he’s stronger, he’s playing with more confidence and he’s, in my mind, catching the ball at a really high level, and that’s what you like to see.”

If Musgrave’s confidence translates into production, and he has a big game in place of Kraft this Sunday, it could open the door for not only more playing time in his own right but for head coach Matt LaFleur, Stenavich and the Packers to deploy more 12-personnel, working both playmaking tight ends on the field at the same time.

Through his first two seasons, Musgrave has caught 44 passes for 443 yards and a touchdown, but could have his best opportunity yet, for a breakout, on Sunday afternoon.
