The news has gone from bad to worse for Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed.
After suffering a broken collarbone in the Packers’ Week 2 victory over the Washington Commanders, Reed faced a six-to-eight week timeline to return from surgery to repair the injury. However, it could be significantly longer before Reed gets back on the field.
In addition to Reed’s collarbone surgery, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur revealed that the Packers’ leading receiver also underwent surgery to repair a Jones fracture in his foot.
Now, Reed must rehab and work his way back from two very different injuries in hopes of returning to the form that propelled him to 55 receptions for a team-high 857 yards and six touchdowns last season.
In Reed’s absence, Jordan Love will likely continue to lean on tight end Tucker Kraft and a burgeoning chemistry with rookie wide receiver Matthew Golden to power what has become one of the NFL’s most explosive passing games.
