Green Bay Packers tight end John FitzPatrick has been in the NFL since 2022, when he was selected in the sixth round, 213th overall, by the Atlanta Falcons, but it was only last Sunday when he finally found the end zone in the league for the first time in his career.

The former Georgia Bulldogs tight end secured a pass in the end zone from quarterback Jordan Love during the third quarter of Green Bay’s Week 3 matchup on the road against the Cleveland Browns.

Before that, FitzPatrick played in 20 games in the league without experiencing what it’s like to score a touchdown. But that drought ended, thanks in large part to Love’s vision and Cleveland’s defense getting spread out.

FitzPatrick, who was signed to a one-year contract worth $1.5 million by the Packers last April, finished the Browns game with 12 receiving yards on two catches and two targets.

He was the only Green Bay player to get to the end zone. He and rookie wide receiver Matthew Golden and wideout Romeo Doubs were also the only Packers who caught all their targets, as Green Bay lost, 13-10.

After FitzPatrick’s TD score, Georgia football gave its former tight end a big shoutout on social media.

“First NFL TD for John Fitzpatrick

” Georgia’s post read.

FitzPatrick made plenty of memories during his time in Athens, including the ones from Georgia’s College Football Playoff National Championship Game win in the 2021 season.

During his time with the  Bulldogs, FitzPatrick recorded 200 receiving yards and a touchdown on 17 catches through 38 games, while playing mostly in the shadows of Brock Bowers and Darnell Washington.
