Packers’ Matt LaFleur Explains Jordan Love’s Juggling Act
Packers' Offense Remains a 'Rorschach Test' According to NFL Analyst 3 Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love (10) throws a pass to Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs (87) during the first quarter of their game Sunday, September 29, 2024 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

The Packers have loaded up on weapons around quarterback Jordan Love this offseason, which not only has the potential to create a myriad of mismatches for opposing defenses but a struggle for Green Bay’s signal caller to keep each of his pass-catchers happy and engaged.

Incoming rookies Matthew Golden and Savion Williams could be walking into marquee roles immediately, in a receiving corps that already includes young and ascending stars such as Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks, Romeo Doubts, tight end Tucker Kraft, and Christian Watson, who is rehabbing from an injury.

That’s a lot of mouths to feed, which Packers head coach Matt LaFleur acknowledges, ahead of the 2025 NFL season.

“The beauty of our offense is you really don’t know necessarily who’s going to get the ball, and I think it really frees up the quarterback,” LaFleur said, via ESPN. “He doesn’t have to feel that pressure [of], ‘Oh I got to get this guy the ball,’ and it’s really on us as a staff to try to move these guys around and showcase what they can do.”

Packers Wide Receivers About to Be a Focal Point

One of the most hotly contested position battles this summer in Green Bay might be for the No. 1 wide receiver role, in a receiving corps that had previously been a committee approach at the position the past several years.

Regardless of how the depth chart takes shape, LaFleur is confident in the Packers’ receiving corps being a major factor for Green Bay’s offense this season.

“They’re high character guys that I think just want to go to work,” LaFleur said. “And we’ll have a lot of time to game plan to get more specific with them. Right now, we’re just trying to install, really, every phase of our game plan and let it happen organically over time.”
