As it turned out, the Green Bay Packers’ undefeated start to the 2025 NFL season would be ended by the Cleveland Browns, of all teams. In a Week 3 showdown in Cleveland, the Packers suffered a stunning 13-10 loss at the hands of Joe Flacco and the Browns, ending their two-game win streak to start the campaign.
Despite the loss, Green Bay’s defense had a lot to be happy about, having held Cleveland scoreless in the first three quarters.
However, star defensive Micah Parsons was not satisfied with the Packers’ performance, especially mentioning himself in an honest reflection following the contest.
Micah Parsons drew holding penalty, had 6 pressures (unofficial), including 2 QB hits. He also had 2 penalties.
“Two offsides is unacceptable for myself, for this team. Just things we shouldn’t be doing, I shouldn’t be doing, it’s unacceptable. I fully apologize for my actions.”
The Packers finished the game with 14 penalties for 75 yards. The Browns, on the other hand, only had eight penalties, but for 90 yards. As talented as Green Bay is, undisciplined play can easily outweigh whatever potential a team has. There are plenty of lessons for the Packers to learn from their setback in Week 3.
In a game where Parsons and Browns defensive end Myles Garrett got plenty of attention, the former failed to get a sack, but he got two quarterback hits to go with two total tackles. He will look to have a bigger impact in the next game, one that is expected to attract even more eyeballs, as Green Bay is scheduled to face Parsons’ former team, the Dallas Cowboys, in Arlington in Week 4.
