The Packers offense didn’t look right in their loss to the Browns Sunday.
After putting up 27 points the first two games of the season against Detroit and Washington, the Packers offense mustarded only 10 points against the Browns.
While the defense did its best, keeping the Browns scoreless through 3 quarters, the offense simply couldn’t operate production wise.
After 2 weeks of the offensive looking like gold, the Browns defense made the Offense look like mediocre.
Furthermore they held the Packers to their lowest point total of the season.
Last week the Packers offensive line did a great job protecting Jordan Love, only allowing 2 sacks.
This week, not so much.
From the beginning of the Packers offense had to reshuffle their line, testing the teams depth.
Zach Tom, who was already questionable coming into the game with an oblique injury, re-injured his oblique after 1 play.
Jordan Morgan took his place but struggled throughout the game with penalties.
The injuries continued to pile up as Aaron Banks re-injured his groin.
More re-shuffling of the offensive line and the Browns feasted on Love and the Packers offense.
In total offensive line allowed 5 sacks and Love was under pressure all game.
With Love not having time to throw and having to get rid of the ball quick the Packers offense couldn’t hit the big plays when needed.
As I mentioned, Love was under pressure all game, causing a chain affect in the passing game.
Like Micah Parson does for the defense, Myles Garrett does for the Browns Defense.
Love’s average pass traveled just 1.6 yards in the air, down from a league-high 12.2 over the first two games of the season.
When Love was under pressure, he was just 4 for 7 for 21 yards.
Love biggest mistake was throwing an errant pass to Dontayvion Wicks that was intercepted.
On the play, it looked like Wicks and Love seem not to be on the same page.
The interception set up the game tying score.
It’s is not very often when the rushing game is a worry for the Packers.
But against the Browns, the offense couldn’t get anything going on the ground.
For the first time in a while Josh Jacobs didn’t score on a rushing touchdown.
In total Jacobs only had 30 yards on 16 carries.
For Jacobs, the 2025 season hasn’t been off to the best start for him.
Jacobs is averaging 3.1 yards per carry this season, a far cry from where he was last season.
Only one of his 58 carries this season has gone for more than 10 yards — a 15-yard gain against the Lions.
While the loss to the Browns is shocking, it isn’t surprising.
The Browns strength is their defense and the Packers offense simply couldn’t produce.
The Packers offense can perform better and hopefully the offense took some lessons from this game.
They’ll look to rebound against the Cowboys defense that surrendered 31 point against a struggling offense in the Bears.
