Packers’ plan to slow Trey Hendrickson revealed
Trey Hendrickson Contract Situation A Perfect Fit For Green Bay Packers To Solve, Says Insider 3 Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Trey Hendrickson (91) celebrates a stop in the fourth quarter of the NFL Week 18 game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cincinnati Bengals at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025. The Bengals won 19-17 to finish the regular season at 9-8.

The Packers’ offensive line has been dealt its share of turmoil.

Sunday, Green Bay could be without left tackle Rasheed Walker, who missed Thursday’s practice due to an injury, ahead of one of the most daunting challenges of the season; containing Cincinnati Bengals All-Pro edge rusher Trey Hendrickson.

Ahead of Week 6, Packers offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich says that Green Bay is leaning on its depth, but understands exactly what makes Hendrickson one of the most dangerous players at the position in the sport.

“We’ve got a lot of guys that have a lot of playing experience now up front,” Stenavich says. “So we’ll kind of see how the week goes and see how it plays out, but yeah, whenever you’ve got a rusher like Hendrickson, he’s another great rusher that we’ve faced so far his year. He’s got elite get-off, great motor. You can tell he’s a really intelligent player, so yeah, you’re going to have your hands full no matter who’s playing.”

Hendrickson enters Sunday’s game, already with four sacks this season, after posting 17.5 apiece each of the past two years.

If the Packers’ offense is going to find a way to establish the running game, and keep quarterback Jordan Love upright in the pocket, it’s going to start with containing Hendrickson, whether it is Walker who gets back on the field or Jordan Morgan who replaces him, that could be a tall order.
