The buzz around the Green Bay Packers took a hit when they fell 13-10 to the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. While they remain legitimate contenders, the defeat served as a stark reality check.
The Packers’ offense fizzled out, and they allowed the Browns to score 13 unanswered points in the last four minutes, despite Cleveland being far from being an offensive powerhouse.
Jen Lada of ESPN Milwaukee says she spotted the true reason behind Green Bay’s loss. She claims the Packers underestimated Cleveland heading into Sunday’s game.
“I believe that they went into this game against the Browns a little complacent. I know Matt LaFleur said they didn’t. I know Jordan Love said they didn’t. I don’t believe them,” Lada remarked.

Complacency clearly played a role as the Packers let a 10-0 lead slip away late against a Browns team that probably won’t reach the playoffs this year. Cleveland’s quarterback struggles are widely known, and the squad requires help across several key positions.
“I think they went into this game thinking, ‘We can roll in at 50%, 60%, hell maybe we throw a 75% together, and we’re gonna beat this team,’ and I don’t understand how you could go in with that mindset knowing that you’re facing one of the best defenses so far this year.”
As Lada highlighted, the Browns’ defense proved formidable, and Green Bay’s offensive struggles are concerning. Jordan Love, the Packers’ star quarterback, threw for 183 yards, completing 18 of 25 passes with one touchdown and one interception. He also absorbed five sacks, a big jump from the two he allowed over the team’s first two games.
The Packers still lack a true game-changing wide receiver. On Sunday, their top receiver was Matthew Golden , who managed just 52 yards on four catches. Through three games, tight end Tucker Kraft leads the team with 11 receptions, 169 yards, and two touchdowns, highlighting the void at the wideout position.
Green Bay’s defense remains a serious threat for opponents around the league. Edge rusher Micah Parsons has transformed the unit into a relentless force, while his impact has allowed defensive lineman Rashan Gary to explode off the line and lead the NFL with 4.5 sacks through three games.
