The Green Bay Packers are bringing a three-game win streak into their Sunday clash against the Carolina Panthers at Lambeau Field in Green Bay. They will also be seeing a familiar face on the opponents’ sideline, with Panthers defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero helping Carolina devise plans to stop Jordan Love and company.
Evero spent the 2016 NFL season with the Packers as a defensive quality control coach before moving on to the Los Angeles Rams and Denver Broncos.
In 2023, Carolina hired him to be the Panthers’ defensive coordinator under then-head coach Frank Reich. Even after the Panthers fired Frank Reich, Evero continues to be the architect of Carolina’s defense, which is 11th so far in the 2025 NFL season with an average of 310.0 total yards allowed per game.
Before the meeting with the Packers, Evero shared some kind words about Green Bay.
“As an organization, as a team, I have a great opportunity this week, the Green Bay Packers in Lambeau Field, and I’m very, very excited about playing a very good football team, well coached by coach [Matt] LaFleur and coach [Adam] Stanovich and their entire staff, and I have a lot of respect for this organization,” Evero said of Green Bay.
“I was there in 2016 for one year and just had a fantastic experience, and just from top down, it’s a really, really good place to work and fun place to live, and so we’re excited about it. We know they’re a good team. It’s going to be a great challenge, but excited for our team and what we can potentially do this week.”

Evero now looks to get his defense ready for Green Bay’s high-powered attack. The 4-4 Panthers are coming off a 40-9 demolition at the hands of the Buffalo Bills at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte in Week 8, snapping Carolina’s three-game win streak.
