Christian Gonzalez has been the talk of the hour in Foxborough over the past month or so.
As it turns out, the A.J. Brown trade wouldn't be the biggest talking point for the New England Patriots leading up to the season, as the star cornerback's contract situation remains a big concern.
To add insult to injury, Gonzalez has missed time due to an injury and was reportedly spotted limping.
That's why Patriots fans will take a collective breath now that Mike Vrabel reported that he's inching closer to a return, according to Patriots insider Evan Lazar.
"Patriots HC Mike Vrabel says the team is hopeful that Christian Gonzalez will be 'able to do some stuff' over the next few days in practice," Lazar shared on his X account.

The Patriots were expected to give Gonzalez a big extension after the Seattle Seahawks made Devon Witherspoon the highest-paid cornerback in NFL history.
The clock is ticking, and with Week 1 in the horizon, it's starting to look like the former first-round pick might bet on himself and play another season under his current deal.
First, however, he still has to get back on the field.
