Peter Schrager Catches Attention With Gesture Toward Ryan Clark on Monday

The final game of the Week 1 slate in the NFL is set to take place Monday evening between the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears.

While there will presumably be tension between the NFC North rivals, ESPN's "NFL Live" also seemed to have a bit of tension between Super Bowl champion safety Ryan Clark and veteran analyst Peter Schrager, hours before the game.

A development that isn't shocking, considering that three days ago on ESPN's "Get Up," Clark went viral after making a point in a debate with Schrager and saying, "That’s the non-player in you."

A comment that clearly irked Schrager and the rest of the panel, and one that the two attempted to pretend didn't happen on Monday. When being introduced by Laura Rutledge, Schrager initiated a fist-bump with Clark as a sign of moving on.

Whether or not fans believe the beef is settled is unclear, as some applauded Schrager for letting cooler heads prevail, while others felt it was forced.

"Schrager is pure class," wrote one fan.

"Such a classy move by Pete," added another.

"Most forced first bump of all time," said a third.

"Haha how fake," commented another.

"Completely staged," chimed in another user.

Although the two played it off as if they were friends, Front Office Sports reported that Clark's comments last week led to an "uncomfortable" confrontation off-air.

The report also revealed that Clark could be on "thin ice," as ESPN just recently went out on hire away Schrager from the NFL Network, and have essentially had him on every show under the Sun since bringing him on.

Clark did issue an apology via social media, but given the incident's viral nature, it's unlikely anyone will let it go anytime soon.
