Game recognize game. In the NFL’s 100+ year history, there have been hundreds of quarterbacks who have played the game and gone. However, some names have gone on to separate themselves with their unforgettable plays. The likes of Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Steve Young, and Brett Favre are all big names who have had a significant impact on their respective teams.
There is one more name that is not mentioned in the above list: Aaron Rodgers. The four-time NFL MVP will no doubt be a first-ballot Hall of Fame player. However, his stint with the Jets and ongoing indecisiveness surrounding his future are two separate incidents that soured his image even amongst his loyal fan base.
Peyton Manning was asked to share his honest thoughts on the Aaron Rodgers situation. As the quarterback ponders if he will be making a return this season as a Pittsburgh Steeler, Manning was asked if the veteran can still have the same impact he had on the Packers.
I think so. The guy is super talented, probably has arguably one of the best arms of all time, he’s just kind of elastic. I don’t have any insight on that, hopefully, he gets with the team soon, and kind of gets going…it will be fun to see him back out there on the field.
Peyton Manning told 97.1 The Fan.
The two-time Super Bowl Champion has faith that Aaron Rodgers can still play at a high level, and potentially lead the Pittsburgh Steelers to their first Super Bowl since 2011. It will be an interesting twist of events for Rodgers, as he was the one who beat Mike Tomlin and the Steelers in Super Bowl XLV.
The situation surrounding Aaron Rodgers has transformed from an exciting prospect into a stressful ordeal for Steelers fans. The quarterback has had two promising visits to the team’s facility, but there has been no commitment from his end yet. Rodgers even scheduled a throwing session with the team’s hottest off-season acquisition, DK Metcalf. All that did was strengthen the rumors of him joining the Steelers.
Mike Tomlin has made it clear that he is willing to be the house on Aaron Rodgers. The Steelers traded away Justin Fields and Russell Wilson, both quarterbacks good enough to hold the fort, as seen by their last season’s performance. However, the assumption was that the team would hope to draft fresh quarterback talent if they were unable to land Rodgers by the time the NFL Draft came around.
“Arguably one of the best arms of all time.”

But no, HC Tomlin made it clear that he is prepared to start the season with Mason Rudolph as his starter, if the Aaron Rodgers situation does not work out. There is substantial time left, and in the next 15 days, the fate of Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers will be finalized.
Despite the quarterback’s failed season with the Jets last year, he put up decent numbers. Rodgers finished with a completion percentage of 63, threw for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns, and had 11 interceptions. The Jets’ situation went on to become messy, and with so much chaos going on, no franchise can possibly continue to focus on just football in such situations. Rodgers has the opportunity to make one final run, for old time’s sake, and prove that he can still continue to play at an elite level.
Peyton Manning is confident that Rodgers can do so. Irrespective of the four-time MVP’s shenanigans, he is recognized as an all-time great by his peers. When asked about the greatest arm talent in the NFL, seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady named Dan Marino, Aaron Rodgers, and Brett Favre as the best.
