Peyton Manning's recent sports venture adds fuel to the fire that has been building with Indianapolis Colts fans for a while now

The greatest Indianapolis Colts player of all time is beginning his newest adventure in the sports world.

With the news of Hall of Fame Colts QB Peyton Manning joining the ownership group of a new womens soccer team in Denver, Colorado apart of the NWSL. Its great to see sports still being such a major part of Manning's life, but its hard for Indianapolis sports fans to continue to see the greatest athlete in their cities history be so active elsewhere.

Indianpolis sports fans will forever be jealous of Peyton Manning's involvement with the city of Denver

Since Peyton Manning's retirement from the NFL its been very evident how much closer he is to the Denver Broncos franchise than the Colts. There are probably multiple reasons for this, the first being pretty obvious, he lives in Denver. So him choosing to be apart of owning a sports team in that area over Indianapolis isn't an issue at all. Seeing him do schedule releases with the Broncos for example has to sting a bit for Colts fans. Seeing him become one of the greatest QBs the NFL has ever seen while representing the horseshoe is something fans of the Colts will never forget. Whether we want to admit it or not though I think the Colts choosing to move on from Manning in the way they did could also play a factor in this situation.

Knowing how good Andrew Luck was out the gate, I think the Colts made the right decision but releasing a legend like Manning is never easy. That choice ended Manning's dream of finishing his career with the same team that drafted him. It opened the door for him to be remembered as a Bronco to some. It would be great to see Manning courtside at a Indiana Pacers game instead of with the Denver Nuggets. And imagine how great it would feel for Colts fans to randomly bump into Peyton at a restaurant in Indianapois all these years later, that sadly isn't the reality we live in.

To go even further we are multiple years into the Manning Cast on ESPN and still haven't even gotten to hear Peyton call a Colts game. Even though Broncos and New York Giants have appeared on the broadcast. Maybe this year that will change with the Colts set to appear on Monday Night Football against the San Francisco 49ers, but I personally remain skeptical. In the end I don't think anyone is in the wrong here, but it seems important to say the city of Denver is getting to experience what many Indianapolis fans envisioned during Manning's time with the Colts. He is an active part of that community and I don't think Colts fans will ever not be jealous of that fact.
