Pittsburgh legend Dan Marino breaks his silence regarding the ongoing saga between the Steelers and Aaron Rodgers

A lot of people have a lot of opinions regarding Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

I mean, just last week we saw the most decorated Steelers quarterback of all time tell Rodgers, and I quote, "Go chew on bark."

And while Dan Marino never played for the Pittsburgh Steelers, he is one of the more famous players to ever come out of the city and is an all-time Pitt Panther, not to mention an NFL Hall of Famer.

So he knows a thing or two about playing QB, and that has him wondering about Rodgers and the Steelers...

Dan Marino unsure of Rodgers with the Steelers

“I still think Aaron [Rodgers] has some game,” Marino told Joe Starkey of 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh. “He does. He can throw it as good as anybody that ever has thrown the football. If his mind’s into it and he’s ready to go and that works. I don’t think it would be an issue with the Steelers...

"...But you gotta have someone that really wants to play there. And he’s getting older. So I don’t know what his mindset is. But he does still have talent.”

What exactly is Marino referring to when he says, "You gotta have someone that really wants to play there?" Simple, someone who embraces the Steelers' way. That will assimilate into the culture of the Black and Gold.

You know, a Terry Bradshaw, Ben Roethlisberger kind of figure. A leader who emanates toughness and grit, and a strong will. Say what you want about Russell Wilson, and his time with the Steelers was always going to end, but he bought into the Steelers.

He adopted the Steel city, he gave back, he opened up to them, and as we saw in Hard Knocks, he genuinely looked as if he wanted to stay.

I'm not sure any of that will happen with Aaron Rodgers.

This is a guy who does not go to OTAs or mandatory minicamp. He's a native Californian who likes walks on Malibu Beach. And that's fine...As long as the Steelers win.

I think the majority of the fan base couldn't care less about Rodgers' time in Pittsburgh, other than what he does on the field.

But being bought in has never hurt.
