Let's face it, it's rare to have a game in the NFL that should be considered an "easy win." Without the possibility of Dallas Cowboys edger rusher Micah Parsons in the season-opener against the Philadelphia Eagles, it should be an easy win for Philly.
Everyone knows the story already, but Parsons requested a trade from the Cowboys after the team failed to offer him a new contract. It's been a lot of back and forth in the media between Parsons and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones regarding the negotiation tactics, but Dallas fans might have some hope for Parsons coming back after all.
At the end of the Dallas Cowboys' training camp practices, head coach Brian Schottenheimer spoke about the availability of Parsons against the Eagles. Jones was initially unsure about his chances of playing in that game, but Schottenheimer had a different view on what he thought would happen.
"I think at the end of the day, we feel like Micah is going to be out there when we line up against Philadelphia here in 15 days or whatever it is. I feel good about that," Schottenheimer said via CBS Sports.
Even with Parsons playing in both matchups against the Eagles last year, Philadelphia was able to crush Dallas twice. The Eagles won by a massive combined score of 75-13. That's no easy task.
There are elements to it Cowboys fans will discuss like Dak Prescott's injury and while that makes sense, the Eagles did not have Jalen Hurts in the second game. Kenny Pickett and Tanner McKee were still able to help the Eagles get a 30+ point win for Philadelphia over Dallas.
The Eagles are currently favored to win against the Cowboys in Week 1 with a seven-point spread. If Parsons truly does not play, that will most likely increase the Eagles' chances of winning.
It's gotten to the point where while the media is still covering the Parsons-Cowboys drama, most people are over it and not buying into the validity of the situation since Jones has already came out and basically said the Cowboys are like a soap opera. Eagles fans should expect Parsons back, but it won't matter. Philly is still superior to Dallas in every way.
