Pro Football Focus Ranks Bengals Running Back Room Among NFL's Worst

The Bengals made a few additions to the running back room this offseason, but Pro Football Focus writer Dalton Wasserman still has the unit among the worst in the NFL.

Cincinnati's group is ranked 27th on his assessment of all 32 rooms after the Bengals led the league in pass attempts last season (652).

"The Bengals are known as a pass-heavy team, but they could still use some offensive balance," Wasserman wrote. "Their top rushing option is Chase Brown, who recorded just less than 1,000 yards and a 73.7 PFF rushing grade last season. Cincinnati lacks depth behind Brown, which could be an issue. Zack Moss played just eight games last season and posted a 55.4 PFF rushing grade. Samaje Perine returns to Cincinnati as a decent receiving option. Sixth-round rookie Tahj Brooks could be a productive short-yardage option if he can crack the rotation."

Cincinnati ran for just 92.6 yards per game last season (30th), but it's not like they leaned on that weakness. Joe Burrow is always going to drive the offensive train this decade.

Time will tell if the depth behind Brown can hold up and boost Cincinnati above 100 rushing yards per game.
