Sixty-seven days remain until the 2026 NFL Draft in Pittsburgh, Pa., April 23-25, 2026. After a 3-14 season in 2025, the Las Vegas Raiders hold the No. 1 overall pick as this daily countdown continues through the franchise’s best players by jersey number.

Today, February 15, the number is 67.

Russell Maryland, No. 67

Russell Maryland, nicknamed “The Conscience,” is the pick for No. 67 because he delivered a rare stretch of every-down reliability on the interior. When he arrived in Silver and Black, he immediately became a full-time starter.

Maryland played 63 games for the Raiders and started all 63. He finished with 10.0 sacks, strong production for a defensive tackle in that role.

Why “The Conscience” gets No. 67

No. 67 does not have a deep Raiders history of long-term starters. Maryland changed that with week-to-week availability and consistent disruption inside.

Draft and background

Maryland was born March 22, 1969, in Chicago. He played at Whitney Young High School in Illinois before starring at Miami.

The Dallas Cowboys drafted him first overall in 1991. Later, he joined the Raiders and provided a steady interior presence.
