The Las Vegas Raiders hit another low point this week. They lost 24-10 to the Cleveland Browns and fell to 2-9. After the game, the team made big changes on offense.
Head coach Pete Carroll fired offensive coordinator Chip Kelly on Monday. NFL Network reporter Tom Pelissero then said that senior offensive assistant Bob Bicknell also lost his job. Pelissero wrote on X that “The Raiders fired senior offensive assistant Bob Bicknell, per source. He was Chip Kelly’s right-hand man. Now, both gone.” Bicknell has followed Kelly in every NFL stop, including Philadelphia and San Francisco.

Bicknell joined the Raiders in 2025. He has more than 30 years of coaching experience, but the offense never clicked. The Raiders hoped Kelly and Bicknell would turn things around this season. Instead, the unit struggled all year.
Carroll thanked Kelly in a statement. “I spoke with Chip Kelly earlier this evening and informed him of his release as offensive coordinator of the Raiders,” Carroll said. “I would like to thank Chip for his service and wish him all the best in the future.”
Kelly responded with respect. “I am grateful for the opportunity with the Raiders; bottom line in this league you have to win,” he told FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer. He said he enjoyed working with Geno Smith and the rest of the offense but understood why the team made the move.
The Raiders’ offense sits near the bottom in points, yards and rushing this season. Special teams have struggled too, leading to the firing of coordinator Tom McMahon. The team has not named a new offensive coordinator yet, but changes are coming soon.
