The Las Vegas Raiders were able to add some key pieces to their team during the offseason to improve from the previous season, and now all that is left is to see how they perform on the field. The Raiders aren’t quite done making moves, and they recently signed a running back to the roster, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

“Raiders signed veteran RB Dare Ogunbowale,” Schefter wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Ogunbowale played for the Houston Texans last season, appearing in all 17 games whether it was on offense or special teams. On offense, he finished with 11 carries for 25 yards and a touchdown, and 10 receptions for 76 yards. On special teams, he recorded 16 total tackles and one fumble recovery.

Ogunbowale has been in the league for eight seasons and played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Washington and Jacksonville Jaguars.

He should be a solid backup running back as Ashton Jeanty will take most of the snaps at the positon. It was a solid rookie season for Jeanty, finishing with 975 rushing yards and five touchdowns.

It should be an even better season for Jeanty in Year 2, as he worked on getting in better shape during the offseason.

“Yeah, the biggest thing to lose from my diet was definitely sugar. That’s all of us. I love candy, all of that, so just really cutting that down and, you know, dialing it in more for sure,” Jeanty said via Bryant McFadden of CBS Sports.

“And then just working out, really building up my cardio, getting in better shape. I didn’t feel like I was in good enough shape last year, so being able to play, you know, longer than everybody and, you know, be more physical longer, I think is very important at running back.”
