Raiders make roster moves to prepare for Week Four

With Michael Mayer unsurprisingly out against the Chicago Bears, the Las Vegas Raiders are keeping their depth at the tight end position strong.

Prior to the game, the Raiders announced that they had activated tight ends Albert Okwuegbunam Jr. and Carter Runyon from the practice squad.

Both were with the Raiders during training camp and preseason, and they found their way on the practice squad after both were part of the group of final cuts.

Okwuegbunam was a fourth-round pick of the Denver Broncos in 2020. Since then, Okwuegbunam has had stints with the Philadelphia Eagles and Indianapolis Colts. So far, Okwuegbunam has 54 receptions to his credit, as well as 546 yards and four touchdowns.

Should Okwuegbunam see the field against the Bears, it will be his first regular season action since 2023.

Runyon was an undrafted free agent out of Towson who signed with the Raiders in April. He emerged as one of the more impressive rookies of the group, landing six receptions and 74 yards during the preseason.

While it is unclear if either will see the field, the Raiders are at least taking some precautions to make sure they are not stuck with a thin tight end room.
