Raiders Sign RB Dare Ogunbowale

Ogunbowale signed with the Raiders on Thursday, per a team announcement. He will spend the remainder of training camp and the preseason aiming to carve out a roster spot as a result. Ogunbowale saw time early in his career with the Buccaneers, overlapping with Raiders GM John Spytek along the way.

The 32-year-old has totaled 120 combined appearances in the regular and postseason over the course of his NFL tenure. Ogunbowale has never logged more than 43 rushing attempts in a single season, however, operating as a depth option in the passing game and a core special teams figure. A regular third phase presence can be expected in Vegas if today’s news results in a roster spot for the fall.

The Raiders’ RB depth chart will once again be topped by Ashton Jeanty in 2026. Last year’s No. 6 pick will hope to improve on his efficiency from his rookie campaign, but a heavy workload will no doubt still be in store under new head coach Klint Kubiak. Vegas has other young options like Dylan Laube (sixth round, 2024) and Mike Washington Jr. (fourth round, 2026) in the fold. Ogunbowale will offer low-cost depth through the summer but also experience relative to the rest of the depth chart.

Throughout his career, Ogunbowale has almost exclusively played on a series of one-year contracts. Given the timing of this Raiders pact, the same can safely be assumed for 2026. Vegas entered Thursday with over $14MM in cap space, so further roster tweaks will be feasible as training camp continues.
