The Los Angeles Rams are dealing with a plethora of injuries amid their disappointing 2-4 start to the regular season.
Several players were banged up in their 18-16 loss to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 6, including linebacker Nate Landman, who is currently in concussion protocol.
If Landman doesn’t get cleared in time for Sunday’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders, Rams head coach Sean McVay suggested the team could elevate former All-Pro Eric Kendricks from their practice squad, via Greg Beacham of the Associated Press:
Rams LB Nate Landman is in the concussion protocol, Sean McVay says. If Landman can’t play, veteran Eric Kendricks is a candidate to be called up to the roster.

The Rams signed Kendricks to their practice squad earlier this month to add depth to the linebacker position, which looks like a smart move now that Landman could be sidelined in Week 7. If he ends up missing the game against the Raiders, Omar Speights figures to get the majority of snaps at inside linebacker, with Kendricks potentially playing next to him.
Kendricks, a former UCLA Bruin, spent his first eight years with the Minnesota Vikings and most notably was a Pro Bowler during the 2019 season. He has also seen time with the Los Angeles Chargers, Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers, with his most recent NFL action coming in 2025.
Kendricks has recorded 1,180 tackles, 21.5 sacks, 60 passes defensed, 11 interceptions and eight forced fumbles in 150 career NFL games (143 starts).
The Rams find themselves in a difficult position as they sit at 2-4 and have a number of key players dealing with injuries. One of them is Davante Adams, who is expected to miss significant time with a hamstring injury.
L.A. still has one of the best wide receivers in the league in Puka Nacua, but the depth behind him is thin as Konata Mumpfield, Jordan Whittington, Tutu Atwell and C.J. Daniels all lack experience or trust in the Rams’ offense.
And with that being the case, the Rams may turn to the trade market to find reinforcements at the wide receiver position. Some possible options include Brian Thomas Jr. of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Jauan Jennings of the Minnesota Vikings and Marquise Brown of the Philadelphia Eagles. Tyreek Hill is also still a free agent and potentially nearing a return.
The NFL trade deadline is a few weeks away on Nov. 10, so the Rams have some time to assess what they have before potentially making a move.
