Saturday's are supposed to be a day of rest for NFL players. Travel, treatment, and prep. But it's also become a day of fines for NFL players. The league office, every Saturday during the season at 4:00 p.m. ET releases the players who received a fine for prior actions the week before.

Starting safety Kamren Kinchens was the latest member of the Los Angeles Rams to fall victim to the NFL, as he was fined a whopping $23,186 for an unnecessary roughness call deemed a hit on a defenseless player.

It was tied for the highest fine of Week 3.

"Players are notified of violations and may appeal any ruling. Cases are heard by appeals officers and former NFL players, Derrick Brooks, Ramon Foster or Jordy Nelson, who are jointly appointed and paid by the NFL/NFLPA. The decisions made are final and binding."

"The fines collected are donated to the Professional Athletes Foundation to support Legends in need and the NFL Foundation to further support the health, safety and wellness of athletes across all levels, including youth football and the communities that support the game."

The second-year safety out of Miami has played well for the Rams, asserting himself as one of the many young playmakers on that side of the ball. One thing about Kinchens, dating back to his time in college, is that he is unafraid to hit people and toe that line.

But you have to always be in control on defense, and that simply wasn't the case last weekend. A crazy game that the Rams essentially choked away against the Philadelphia Eagles, Kinchens and the Rams are looking ahead to a matchup with the undefeated Indianapolis Colts in Week 4.

They will need Kinchens at his best to hand Indy its first loss.
