In the six drafts the Jaguars have had in the 2020s, they have had mixed results. Some classes set the franchise back, while others saw franchise cornerstones and unexpected key players in later rounds. Each class will be graded based on production, expectations, and longevity with the team.

Ranking every Jaguars draft class since 2020

2020 F

This would be the final draft under General Manager David Caldwell. The Jaguars had two first-round picks and four picks in the top 100, and none of them have panned out. The Jaguars went 1-15 in 2020, largely due to the lack of talent impact from the draft. Defensive tackle DaVon Hamilton and safety Daniel Thomas were the only players to play five or more seasons with the team.

So far, Hamilton has not been re-signed by the team, giving the class zero players currently on the team. The 2020 draft remains one of the worst classes in team history.

Biggest miss: CJ Henderson

Biggest hit: DaVon Hamilton

2025 D

After just one season, the 2025 draft class’s grade could change dramatically over the next two seasons. The Jaguars traded multiple draft assets to select two-way player Travis Hunter second overall, and he showed flashes of being an excellent talent, but would suffer a season-ending injury in Week seven. Defensive back Caleb Ransaw also suffered a season-ending injury in training camp and never saw the field.

Running backs Bhayshul Tuten and LeQuint Allen were taken later in the draft, but showed high upside in limited snaps. After the departure of Travis Etienne, Tuten is expected to take the starting job, and Allen could see more snaps in short-yardage or pass-blocking situations. If Hunter and Ransaw break out in 2026, this draft class could be remembered quite fondly.

2022 C-

The 2022 class yielded unique results. Travon Walker was controversially selected first overall but has proven to be a very good pass rusher, an excellent run defender, and has recently signed a long-term extension with the team.

Devin Lloyd has had a much more turbulent career, struggling to fit in multiple defensive schemes before breaking out in 2025 and having an All-Pro season. In the final round, the Jaguars selected Montaric Brown. Much like Lloyd, Brown struggled for multiple seasons before finally finding his footing in 2025, putting up a career year. Four years later, Walker and Brown are the only players on the team heading into 2026.

Biggest hit: Travon Walker

Biggest miss: Luke Fortner

2024 C

After a turbulent 2023 season, the Jaguars had an unexpected number of positions that needed to be filled. The Jaguars traded back to acquire Brian Thomas Jr., who has proven to be an excellent receiver. Jarrian Jones has filled the nickel role on defense,  and Cam Little is arguably the best kicker in the NFL. Outside of these three, the class is rather weak, with no other impact players emerging.

Biggest hit: Brian Thomas Jr.

Biggest miss: Maason Smith

2021 B-

For a brief period of time, the 2021 draft class built the core of the team. Trevor Lawrence, Tyson Campbell, and Walker Little were all given contract extensions, and players such as Travis Etienne and Andre Cisco had multiple productive seasons before leaving in free agency. While only Lawrence and Little remain with the team, the Jaguars were able to get good and sometimes great production out of five players from the class.

Biggest hit: Trevor Lawrence

Biggest miss: Walker Little

2023 B

The 2023 draft class was one of the best in franchise history. On all three days, the Jaguars selected impact players, many of whom will receive contract extensions. Antonio Johnson and Parker Washington are the biggest surprises of the class, having career seasons in 2025.

Anton Harrison and Brenton Strange have continued to improve each year and are key pieces to the offense. While Tank Bigsby is no longer with the team, he had solid production in 2024, taking the starting spot from Travis Etienne. The 2023 draft class is the best Jaguars draft of the 2020s.

Biggest hit: Parker Washington

Biggest miss: Tank Bigsby
