Ravens QB Lamar Jackson misses practice with illness

Baltimore Ravens star quarterback Lamar Jackson cemented his status as a legitimate early-season Most Valuable Player candidate with his performance in guiding his team back to defeat the Indianapolis Colts this past Monday night and was later able to laugh about receiving a rare roughing-the-passer penalty during that victory.

However, Jackson is struggling to stay off injury reports this fall.

Per Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk, Jackson was nowhere to be seen during the open portion of Thursday's practice and was later on the injury list with an illness that, as of the evening hours, did not cause him to land on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Thus far this season, Jackson has dealt with a "sore" hip he could've avoided, an illness later confirmed to be a non-coronavirus-related stomach bug and back soreness that cost him a pair of practices but didn't prevent him from torching the Denver Broncos in Week 4.

While there's currently no reason for Baltimore fans to panic before Sunday's clash with the 4-1 Los Angeles Chargers, the Ravens' Friday media updates just became all the more interesting.
