Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is set to make more room in his trophy cabinet.

Jackson has been named the 2023 AP NFL MVP. He was awarded the honor at the 13th annual "NFL Honors" awards show.

Overall, Jackson received 49 first-place votes for the NFL MVP award.

Jackson had a season to remember this year. He tallied 29 total touchdowns and helped lead the Ravens to both the No. 1 seed in the AFC and the AFC North title for the first time since the 2019 campaign.

Jackson did not emerge as a serious contender for this year’s NFL MVP honor until December. The sixth-year passer recorded 11 touchdown passes and a 114.5 passer rating in the final full month of the regular season.

The Ravens had multiple contests against teams with a winning record over the second half of the season, and Jackson upped his game in each such contest. One can not forget his five touchdown passes outing in Baltimore’s home win against the Miami Dolphins.

Jackson is the 11th player in NFL history to win at least two NFL MVP awards. He sure will enter next season among the favorites to win the league’s most prestigious honor.
