Former Browns center Ethan Pocic is going from one AFC North franchise to another. He will join the Ravens on a one-year deal, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. The contract carries a $4.5MM max value, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. It includes a $3MM base value and up to $1.5MM in incentives, per Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic.
This agreement comes just two days after Schefter reported Pocic had been medically cleared from the Achilles tear he suffered last December. The injury limited Pocic to 13 games in his fourth and final Browns season. He started in all 57 appearances in Cleveland, which brought him aboard on a low-cost deal in free agency in 2022. Pocic played well enough in his first season with the Browns to secure a three-year, $18MM extension in 2023.
Before his run in Cleveland, Pocic began his career in Seattle as a 2017 second-round pick. The LSU product started in 40 of 57 games with the Seahawks over his first four seasons. With 97 career starts, Pocic is easily the most experienced center on a Baltimore team facing the monumental task of replacing the departed Tyler Linderbaum. After Linderbaum earned his third straight Pro Bowl nod in 2025, he left in free agency to sign a record-setting three-year, $81MM pact with the Raiders.
With Linderbaum out the door, Baltimore went over four months without an obvious replacement. It appears the club has finally found one in the 30-year-old Pocic, who is likely to start if healthy, Zrebiec relays. Had they not landed Pocic, the Ravens would have gone into training camp with the inexperienced trio of Danny Pinter, Jovaughn Gwyn, and Corey Bullock competing for the starting job. Pinter, who joined the Ravens on a one-year, $2.75MM contract in free agency, made just 10 starts in 77 games with the Colts from 2020-25. Gwyn and Bullock have combined for 35 appearances in the league, but they do not have any starts between them.
The Ravens entered Friday with approximately $17.14MM in spending space, per Over the Cap. They will remain around the middle of the pack in cap room after adding Pocic, who they hope will provide a solid stopgap as they adjust to life without Linderbaum.
