Running back Raheem Mostert recently revealed that his former team, the San Francisco 49ers, had reached out about a potential reunion . Mostert spent six seasons with the 49ers before joining the Miami Dolphins. However, according to NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe, Mostert is signing with the Las Vegas Raiders instead.

The 49ers recently re-signed Patrick Taylor and placed a second-round tender on Jordan Mason, likely ensuring both remain in the Bay Area to back up Christian McCaffrey. The team also has Israel Abanikanda under contract and could potentially add more depth in the offseason through the draft at a lower cost.

The Dolphins recently released Mostert in a cap-related move after losing his starting job to De'Von Achane. He finished the 2024 season with 439 scrimmage yards, including 278 rushing yards on 85 carries, and two rushing touchdowns, per Pro Football Reference.

The Philadelphia Eagles signed Mostert (5-10, 205) as an undrafted free agent out of Purdue in 2015. He had brief stints with the Dolphins (first stint), Baltimore Ravens, Cleveland Browns, and Chicago Bears before landing with the 49ers in 2016, where he became a key piece of the offense.

Mostert, 32, has totaled 3,791 rushing yards on 759 carries with 34 rushing touchdowns in 103 career games (39 starts) over 10 NFL seasons. He has also added 111 receptions for 899 yards and eight receiving touchdowns.

Mostert earned a Pro Bowl selection in 2023 after rushing for 1,012 yards and scoring 21 total touchdowns with the Dolphins—the only 1,000-yard rushing campaign of his career.
