The Bengals and Trey Hendrickson have reportedly re-engaged in contract extension talks as the team breaks before Training Camp.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported the development as Cincinnati tries to lock in its best defender for more seasons. Hendrickson is set to play on the final year of his deal for $16 million in total cash, but adamantly told the media last month he will not play on that deal.

Hendrickson missed all of mandatory minicamp this week, initiating $105,000 in total fines.

Cincinnati just opened up even more salary cap space this offseason by releasing Germaine Pratt. They now have over $27 million in space to get a deal done, but there is no other report anything is close when it comes to a new deal for Hendrickson, but it's a great sign that talks are back on after months of silence.
