The Las Vegas Raiders reportedly wanted two first-round picks and a player for All-Pro EDGE Maxx Crosby, but instead they just settled for the picks.
On Friday night, the Raiders dealt their five-time Pro Bowler to the Baltimore Ravens for first-rounders in this year's and next year's NFL Draft, where Crosby will be the cornerstone of Jesse Minter's new-look defense.
But according to one league insider, the Dallas Cowboys came up just short of potentially acquiring the player that Jerry Jones and Co. had been keeping an eye on for a long time.
Per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the Cowboys also sent the Raiders an offer under their asking price — but Vegas didn't bite.
Dallas was reportedly willing to send this year's 12th overall pick, a future second-round pick and a veteran player to Sin City in exchange for Las Vegas' 28-year-old pass rushing star.
And while the Cowboys' offer wasn't enough, it's seemingly an admission that trading Micah Parsons last season was a mistake that they're still attempting to make up for — as good as players like Quinnen Williams and an aging Kenny Clark are.

As Fowler wrote this weekend: "After dealing first- and second-round picks for Quinnen Williams at the trade deadline, Dallas set hard limits for how far it would go for Crosby, despite the pain associated with losing him. 'We loved him,' said a Dallas source of the Crosby pursuit. This was a player the Cowboys eyed for a long time."
Adding, "Dallas must now pivot to free agency to land its pass rusher. It has monitored Trey Hendrickson dating back to the trade deadline. He's now a free agent. Jaelan Phillips, Odafe Oweh and Boye Mafe will be firmly on Dallas' radar in the coming days."
The Cowboys defense was arguably the league's worst in 2025 and was a big reason why the franchise finished 7-9-1 despite boasting such an explosive offense.
