The Dallas Cowboys reportedly aren't looking to help their rivals with this weekend's interview decision.
As teams look to fill their respective staffs heading into next season, the Cowboys received a request from the Philadelphia Eagles to speak with offensive coordinator Klayton Adams about possibly making a change.
Instead Jerry Jones and Co. added a little more fuel to the longtime NFC East rivalry by shooting down Philly's inquiry and making sure the franchise has to look elsewhere for OC help in 2026.
According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, Dallas decided against allowing the Eagles to potentially poach one of their top assistants. And because it is considered a lateral move by the NFL (despite Adams having the opportunity to call plays in Philly), the Cowboys were able to rule against it.
"The Eagles requested to interview Cowboys OC Klayton Adams for their offensive coordinator job but Dallas blocked the request, per league sources," Fowler reported. "Dallas finished second in total offense and values Adams."

As Fowler also reports, Philly is on the verge of losing one of the most beloved coaches in their building to a defensive coordinator opportunity with the Miami Dolphins — who recently interviewed defensive line assistant Clint Hurtt on Saturday.
“He has been an amazing coach,” Eagles rookie Ty Robinson told NJ.com. “He’s just been telling me all year, ‘Just be patient. Your time will come to go out there and do your thing.’ I think he understands that I’m a pretty cerebral football player. ... Just making sure even though we might not be running our defense, just kind of working on the things that we talked about.”
The Dolphins hired Packers coordinator Jeff Hafley to be Mike McDaniel's successor next season, who prior to his work in Green Bay served as Boston College's head coach from 2020-2023.
