Report: New York Giants to sign Shane Bowen as new defensive coordinator
? Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

Shane Bowen has been hired as the New York Giants’ new defensive coordinator, per reports. He previously held the same role for the Tennessee Titans.

He spent the past six seasons in Tennessee before making the move to New York, and has been coaching in the NFL for eight seasons overall. He spent three seasons as the Titans’ outside linebackers coach and was promoted to defensive coordinator in 2021.

Bowen replaces Wink Martindale, who led New York’s defense to allow 361.7 yards per game and gave up 48 touchdowns — tied for the third-highest mark in the NFL during the regular season.
