REPORT: Stefanski to Get 2nd Interview with Miami

An earlier NFL Network report from Friday appears to be untrue, and the Dolphins are scheduling a 2nd interview with Kevin Stefanski, per Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated.

Stefanski is doing a 2nd interview today with Atlanta and Sunday with the Titans.

Stefanski won the NFL Coach of the Year Award twice with the Cleveland Browns, in 2020 and 2023.

He has a 1-2 postseason record, in which his Browns beat Pittsburgh in round one in 2020, although he tested for COVID, wasn’t on the sideline, and didn’t coach the game.

He has an overall regular-season record of 45-56 as the head coach in Cleveland.

But don’t read much into the losing record, as the Browns have been a poorly run franchise, and ownership has messed up the quarterback situation for Stefanski with running Baker Mayfield out of town, chasing Deshaun Watson, and bringing him to town with a massive contract that created a messy situation for the organization.

Before taking the Browns’ head coaching position in 2020, Stefanski spent his entire NFL coaching career in Minnesota. As an assistant head coach, tight ends coach, running backs coach, quarterbacks coach, and then their offensive coordinator.

With the Dolphins looking to acquire their starting quarterback of the future in the next year or two, having an offensive mind like Stefanski coach him up would be a big plus for the Dolphins.

Stefanski’s first interview with the Dolphins was on Tuesday, and it was an in-person interview.
