There are naturally a lot of concerns surrounding the New England Patriots after the rather forgettable season they had in 2024. If you ask team owner Robert Kraft, though, he's brimming with optimism about the team.
Sports reporter and TV personality Kay Adams revealed as much following her interview with Kraft and the Patriots for her "Up & Adams" show.
The Patriots' 2024 season started with plenty of anticipation after the team entered their post-Bill Belichick era. Not only did they take quarterback Drake Maye as the No. 3 pick in the 2024 draft to be at the center of their new team, but they also promoted Jerod Mayo to be their new head coach.
Unfortunately, the Patriots struggled heavily, finishing with one of the worst records in the NFL and failing to make the playoffs.
Here's a summary of what happened to the Patriots in 2024:
Heading to the 2025 season, the Patriots definitely look more promising. Maye has reportedly shown tremendous growth amid the team's training camp, as he has not thrown an interception in eight practices, per CBS Sports.
Vrabel, meanwhile, has a clear vision of what he wants the Patriots to be. He previously stated that he wants New England to be tough-minded and resilient as he looks to establish a winning culture.
With that being said, Kraft is feeling confident about his team.
In his conversation with Kay Adams, Kraft apparently expressed that he's feeling great about the team's chances this 2025 season.
According to Adams, the Patriots owner repeatedly said he has a "good feeling" after what he has seen from the players and coaching staff throughout training camp so far.
"All you need to know is that 6 time Super Bowl champion owner Robert Kraft told me 3 times in our chat that he has a good feeling about his 2025 team. I do too," Adams wrote in the caption of her post, which included photos of her interviews with Kraft and other players.
Kraft's comments drew mixed reactions, although plenty of fans share the same optimism as the owner.
"I do too ! Go PATS," a commenter wrote on Adams' Instagram post. Another one said, "That’s my team. You did an amazing job."
"Only news I needed to hear, go pats," a fan added.
A hyped supporter remarked, "Let’s go." A fifth follower noted, "yessirrr."
For what it's worth, there's plenty of optimism surrounding the Patriots, so it's not surprising why Kraft is feeling good. In fact, earlier in July, Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk even went as far as claiming that New England can make the playoffs.
"I think the Patriots are going to pretty good this year," Florio said. "I think Mike Vrabel is going to come in and change the culture the right way. I think they’ve gotten some players that are going to make a difference. The key is the coach and Vrabel understands how to put a team together."
"I think the Patriots can make the playoffs," Florio added before clarifying that he's "not saying they’re gonna run it all the way to the Super Bowl.
"They can upset a team or two if they get to the postseason," he added.
