Saquon Barkley looked like a champion with his outfit at the 2025 Met Gala. The Super Bowl champion running back was seen wearing a classic black tuxedo with black shoes at the Met Gala red carpet event. It goes along with the theme, which is “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”

The Met Gala is an annual event held on the first Monday in May at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. It’s a fundraising gala for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute and the ticket price is $75,000.

Saquon Barkley was one of the many celebrities at the event. According to InStyle, notable athletes such as Lewis Hamilton, Simone Biles, Angel Reese and Sha’Carri Richardson are scheduled to attend. Other celebrities who are expected to be there are Zendaya, Rihanna, Colman Domingo, and Pharrell Williams, among others.

It was reported that Barkley’s fiancée Anna Congdon, was not at the Met Gala with him. However, Congdon celebrated the Philadelphia Eagles running back’s look by posting a behind-the-scenes look of him getting ready on her Instagram Story, per E! News.

It’s been a year to remember for Saquon Barkley

It’s been a wild year for Barkley who signed a three-year contract with the Eagles in March of 2024. He went on to have the best season of his career, rushing for 2,005 yards and 13 touchdowns, and helped the Eagles win their second Super Bowl since the 2017 season.

Shortly after the Eagles’ Super Bowl victory, Barkley talked about how the team could become a dynasty. “Yeah, I said after the game, why can’t our dynasty start now?” Barkley told On3 and other media members at a Super Bowl celebration event at Raising Cane’s outside of Philadelphia. “Probably had a little bit of champagne and other stuff in my system at the time, but you really can’t focus on that. You just got to enjoy the moment. It’s hard to win one. And you take it in, you enjoy the moment and you start all over.”

“…So you take it in, you cherish it, you enjoy it, you appreciate the fans, but the dynasty thing, you can’t really get caught up in that. The way you do that is by putting the work in, and there’s a reason why we won, it’s just not an accident, so we got to try to do it all over again next year.”
