"Seven hours of commercial free football."
That's a sentence football fans won't be hearing during the 2025 NFL season after NFL Network host Scott Hanson's announcement on Wednesday.
The popular NFL RedZone host announced that the show will now include commercials, so Hanson will now have to say, "seven hours of RedZone football starts now," every Sunday.

At the beginning of August, ESPN announced a non-binding agreement where they would be acquiring NFL Network and certain other media assets owned and controlled by the NFL. That includes RedZone and NFL Fantasy. In exchange, the NFL will receive a 10% equity stake in ESPN.
The NFL Network announced the news on their official social media page.
“The ESPN/NFL deal combines America’s most popular sporting league and the world’s most innovative sports media leader,” the post read. “ESPN will own and operate NFL Network providing fans enhanced access to 24/7 coverage of the sport they love.
However, this is not the way to get fans excited about the merger.

"I always used Redzone when a game I was watching went to commercial @espn had to just mess that up huh," one fan wrote.
"Defeats the entire purpose of NFL redzone. Will not be buying it this year," another fan posted.
"I don’t even watch Redzone and I’m mad ab this," someone commented.
