SANTA CLARA — The Seattle Seahawks captured their second Super Bowl title with a 29-13 victory over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX, capping the 2025 NFL season with a dominant defensive performance Sunday at Levi’s Stadium.

Seattle built a commanding lead behind its top-ranked defense, which consistently pressured Patriots quarterback Drake Maye and stifled New England’s offense. The Seahawks limited the Patriots’ offense to only 13 points, all of which came in the 4th quarter. The Seahawks turned pressure into points, including key takeaways in the second half that set the offense up for success.

Running Back Kenneth Walker III was named Super Bowl MVP after a tough, physical outing that paced Seattle’s attack. Walker rushed for 135 yards and contributed as a receiver with two receptions for 26 yards, becoming the first running back to earn Super Bowl MVP honors since Terrell Davis in Super Bowl XXXII.

Seattle Quarterback Sam Darnold managed the game efficiently, throwing for over 200 yards and a touchdown while avoiding turnovers, continuing his strong postseason run. Kicker Jason Myers set a Super Bowl record with five made field goals, providing steady scoring in a game where touchdowns were hard to come by for either team.

Defensively, the Seahawks were relentless. Cornerback Devon Witherspoon and Defensive Linemen such as Derick Hall and Byron Murphy helped generate pressure, sack Maye multiple times, and force critical turnovers. A defensive scoop-and-score, turned pick-six, further swung momentum in Seattle’s favor.

The Patriots, led by first-year coach Mike Vrabel and young Quarterback Drake Maye, reached the Super Bowl for the first time since the Brady-Belichick era. But New England’s offense struggled to find rhythm against Seattle’s defense, finishing with only 13 points, unable to overcome early deficits.

Seattle coach Mike Macdonald secured his first Lombardi Trophy, adding a second Lombardi Trophy to the franchise’s trophy case, the first being from the 2013 season. The victory marked Seattle’s fourth Super Bowl appearance and served as redemption against New England, which had prevailed in their previous title meeting 11 years earlier.

Off the field, the event featured Charlie Puth singing the national anthem and a halftime show headlined by Bad Bunny, with guest appearances that energized the crowd.

Scoring Summary
Seattle seized control early with field goals and defensive scores, leading 19-0 before adding a late touchdown. All of New England’s points came in the fourth quarter as Seattle maintained a comfortable lead.
