The new NFL season is almost here, and the Denver Broncos kick things off with a bang. Sean Payton’s team head to Arrowhead where they take on Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Now, if one had to compare the two teams, after last season’s performance, the Broncos seem like the better side. After all, Mahomes’ injury late last season also needs to be taken into consideration.
But Sean Payton isn’t letting himself or the Broncos become complacent. He knows exactly what Mahomes is capable of, and reminded everyone about it in his recent press conference.
Payton praised the Chiefs QB, noting how he tackled rehab the same way Bo Nix has and how the Broncos are preparing for him.
“He’s going to be 100%, and we’re preparing for his best. We know how talented he is.”

The first game of the season being a divisional match is as difficult as it gets. But, it becomes even more difficult knowing you’re taking on one of the best QB’s in the league at 100%.
Patrick Mahomes isn’t the only thing the Broncos need to be worried about when they face the Chiefs. After all, there is Arrowhead Stadium itself to worry about.
70,000 Chiefs fans screaming at you isn’t exactly the easiest atmosphere to play in. So, in order to prepare for that, Sean Payton has been playing Arrowhead music during practice.
A unique way to prep the team for what they might face in Kansas City. It will be interesting to see if it actually helps them pick up the win.
