Sheduer Sanders is Done with the Cleveland Browns

Everyone tells you to never overreact to NFL Preseason games, and while that may be true, the Browns first preseason game was extremely telling. First off, the depth on the Browns is absolutely atrocious, and while there are bright spots like KC Concepcion looking like a young Tyreek Hill, this team will not eclipse five or more wins this season.

With Deshaun Watson's contract coming off the books after the 2026 season, and the Myles Garrett trade happening this offseason, this team is prepared for a full reset. Sheduer Sanders could still make a name for himself in Cleveland, but let's discuss all the factors working against him.

Browns versus Bears Preseason Game Recap

Deshaun Watson's stats look phenomenal in this game as he went 11/15 for 126 passing yards, but he also lost a crucial fumble that was undoubtedly his fault. He had a quality game, but the eye test showed me he will not be a great quarterback this year.

What this also showed was the fact that he will still be the Browns starting quarterback to start the season.

Now flipping over to Shedeur Sanders, this was just an ugly game all around. He had a couple of nice out route passes as well as standing strong in a pocket to hit receiver Luke Floreia on a deep dig, but that was about the extent of the positive takeaways. Sanders had two batted passes, something that plagued him in the 2025 season as well. Sanders still showcased a lackluster ability to extend plays with his legs beyond the line of scrimmage, and his worst play was an airmailed pass resulting in an interception.
