The Los Angeles Rams sent shockwaves through the league by giving up a king's ransom to get Myles Garrett.
The former Cleveland Browns superstar turned a Super Bowl hopeful into the undisputed team to beat, especially if they also manage to bring Aaron Donald back from retirement.
The only problem is that Garrett has barely done much since arriving in Los Angeles, as he continues to deal with a lingering knee injury.
And while the team insists that they're just erring on the side of caution, the clock is ticking and there's still no sight of the star pass rushers.
According to The New York Post’s Michael J. Duarte, the whole situation is starting to smell fishy.
“At some point, caution starts looking suspiciously like concern,” Duarte reported. “For the Los Angeles Rams and superstar Myles Garrett, they’re not there yet. But after another practice came and went Tuesday without the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year on the field, Rams fans can be forgiven for starting to ask questions.”
Of course, the Rams still have two weeks before their season opener in Australia vs. the San Francisco 49ers.
That said, every day that Garrett doesn't practice with his new team is a day his so-called minor injury starts looking more severe.
“For now, there’s no reason to sound the alarm,” Duarte added. “Every missed practice will make that mysterious knee injury just a little harder to ignore.”
Some might even speculate that the Browns were already aware of this condition when they shockingly decided to trade him, though there's no firm evidence to affirm that.
Whatever the case, Garrett should be just fine even without practicing, but this is definitely something to keep a close eye on.
