Some Positives Heading Into Jets Game
Let’s be as positive as we can today regarding our beloved Miami Dolphins.
Are there things to be optimistic about this team?
Yes, there are.
But the positives can only be seen by taking a long-term view of the team.
This is the reality of the 2025 Miami Dolphins.
Most Dolphins fans agree that the time is long overdue for significant changes by moving on from General Manager Chris Grier, Coach Mike McDaniel, and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
But to see the light at the end of this self-induced tunnel will take at least through 2026.
In the meantime, as we navigate these changes, let’s consider the positives that will be in a developmental stage through the 2026 season.
First,
We have found a bruiser back to gain the tough yardage in running back Ollie Gordon II.
The skills that Gordon possesses complement De’Von Achane’s speed and elusiveness and provide a two-headed punch at running back.
Second,
Although still learning the speed of the NFL, guards Jonah Savaiinaea and Patrick Paul, and defensive linemen Kenneth Grant, Jordan Phillips, and Zeke Biggers provide a nucleus of strength in the trenches that shows considerable potential.
Third,
We have the speed receivers on the roster to replace Hill next year.
Both wide receivers, Malik Washington and Tahj Washington, provide sufficient speed alongside Jaylen Waddle to, at a minimum, make some plays.
And with the addition of another wide receiver through the draft, we can begin to move past Tyreek Hill and his antics.
Fourth,
We can look forward to a completely different regime for the team’s top brass.
A new General Manager will be free to choose their own head coach, and both will be instrumental in selecting the next quarterback, whom we hope will finally become our franchise QB 1.
It is disheartening that, as a loyal Miami Dolphins fan, one of the positives I look forward to is rebuilding this team from scratch, but this is the reality of the 2025 Miami Dolphins.
