Steelers’ Rico Dowdle issues emphatic verdict on Aaron Rodgers

The Pittsburgh Steelers signed Rico Dowdle this offseason to a two-year, $12.5 million contract after he played for the Carolina Panthers last season and the Dallas Cowboys for four seasons before that. Heading into his sixth year in the NFL, Dowdle has played alongside plenty of talent in the league. But apparently, 42-year-old Aaron Rodgers takes the cake for the quarterback position.

After practice on Tuesday at training camp, Dowdle claimed that Rodgers is the best quarterback he’s ever played with in his career, according to Bryan DeArdo of CBS Sports. The 28-year-old ball carrier credited Rodgers for his smarts and admitted how excited he is to play games with the future Hall of Famer.

“I’ll tell you, [he’s] the best quarterback I’ve stepped on a field with,” Dowdle said about Rodgers. “[He’s] the smartest quarterback. It’s just been great getting out there and getting beside him and work with him. Definitely look forward to getting out there and getting the season rolling.”
