The Pittsburgh Steelers (6-2) defeated the New York Giants (2-6) 26-18 on "Monday Night Football."
There were several plays that impacted the outcome of the game, but the play that sealed it was an interception by rookie cornerback Beanie Bishop Jr. with less than a minute left in the game.
It was a massive play by the undrafted rookie, but he was confident he was going to be the one to end the game even before taking the field.
"I told Alex Highsmith that I was gonna win the game that drive, honestly," Bishop said. "That's just something that I pride myself on, just trying to go out there and get a stop to finish the game."
Bishop has been no stranger to forcing turnovers, though. Last week, he intercepted New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers twice.
The 24-year-old is confident he is far from done, too.
"I don't know. Hopefully a long time," he responded when asked how long his interception streak will go. "When I get my turnovers, they come in bunches."
Things could get a bit complicated, however, with veteran cornerback Cam Sutton now eligible to return to the team.
Sutton was suspended for the first eight games of the season for violating the personal conduct policy and will likely be activated sooner rather than later.
Still, it will be difficult to take Bishop off the field as his play has continued to improve ever since he began weekly film study sessions with head coach Mike Tomlin.
"We started two weeks ago. He's like, 'You got a minute?' I went up to his office, and then last week I asked him, 'You gotta minute,'" Bishop said. "We just gonna keep it going."
Only time will tell how the Steelers will opt to use Bishop and Sutton, but the rookie has risen to the occasion multiple times and will likely continue doing so if given the chance.
"Every guy know when it's they turn that they have to step up," Bishop concluded. "Nothing's mystical about what's going on here. Just putting the work in, and whenever it's your turn, you gotta step up."
Pittsburgh doesn't need to make an immediate decision as it heads into its bye in Week 9.
